Homecoming 2012!

Ladies and Gents . . .

I went to my very first homecoming dance last night .

And it was truly fantastic . : )

To start the week off, there was lots of cram and stress to put together a fantastic half time. Us cheer girls  ( and boys ) joined together with our dance team ( Orchasis) and from what I could see / heard after, we did great!

The week also consisted of

  • Hanging posters on all of the football players houses ( partay )

  • Ordering my iPhone 5!!!!!!!

Yes.

  • Decorating the bruin bowl. And it looked GOOD!

  • And ( wait for iiiiiiiiiiittttt ) THE HOMECOMING GAME!

Gotta love those friday night lights.

 We played Provo.

Correction : We beat Provo

But the worst part?

My best friend got hurt.

I honestly can't even tell you what happened in the game after the first quarter.

I was a little thought occupied.

He's going to be okay though. I know he is. And he'll be back out on that field before we know it. : )

I love him. <3

We went to Iceberg after the game. Only because that's where all of the Orem High people go after their games, so we stuck out a little.

Hehe, that's what to boys painted on their legs for the game! That leg being Truxton's.

They're babes. Let me tell you.

Now for the best day of the week:

SATURDAY!

The day of the homecoming dance.

I got asked! This is how he did it!

My date picked me up and we headed up to Lagoon with our group!

Kind of look retarded . But it's all good . I was way too excited to look normal .

Kind of blurry . . . but meet the group!

It was so much fun!

Now, meet my date!

This is Truxton.

( My current crush, but shh don't tell anyone )

The night was definitely perfect because of him .

I couldn't have asked for a better date!

And man, did he look good . : )

But, don't just take my word for it!

Let's get to the good stuff

*Queue the long line of pictures*

Getting ready. I did my own hair . . .

Never doing THAT again . Ever .

But

The finished product!

Just a side note, I put his boutonniere on by myself. First of any of his dates to put it on him themselves. First boutonniere I've ever had to put on. No big.

Favorite picture that was taken all night right here!

Me and Nikki! ( Ignore the fact I'm totally slouching : ( blah)

Hehehe : ) yup. the boy with his eyes closed/asian eyes is my date. Back off girls.

Now, probably my favorite thing I was wearing was my corsage.

This is a day after picture, so the flowers are a little wilted, but it is still so beautiful.

The metal things held it on my wrist and I was too lazy to put them on for the picture, but the important part is the pearls : )

I was blown away : )

More pictures to come.

Anyway, we had pictures done and went to the Pizza Factory for dinner!

That's a good looking group right there. And, yes, I am holding my leftovers.... Awkward.

Then we headed off to the dance!

My favorite part of the dance was the slow songs . . . : )

But the rest was super fun too!

After the dance was over we went to Wendy's, got frostys, then came back to my house to watch Mean Girls.

Which I slept through . . .

That's probably a good thing though, because I would have bugged everyone with my mad quoting skills!

Overall, my Saturday was so amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better date : )

XOXO,
Halli

The Goods and the Bads of Life; We All Have Both

* Prepare yourself for some ups and downs {well, mostly downs} throughout this post. *

While most of you were probably out and about doing the usual Thursday things everyone does, I spent most of my day {10 hours to be exact} at a care center holding the hand of my great grandma.

If you ever have the opportunity to go see a loved one who only has a few years left, never turn it down. There is nothing like crying because of regret. I had so many opportunities. . .

There is also nothing like sitting at a care center until midnight next to a being that you feel so much love for, knowing you're going to lose them at any second.

It was hard to leave, but I had to come back home on Friday to cheer on my fellow Bruins. We lost to Mountain Crest, but I still believe in them. I mean , it was only a pre season game.

Being the fighter my great grandma was, she was still there when I went back for 3 hours Saturday night. Although she was there, she hadn't talked all day, and also had a fever of 103.7 when I got there.    A nurse who was close to my grandma would always sing to her when she was the one caring for her. She had come in on Saturday and after she was done singing to her she said, "I'll see you in the morning, Maxine!" That was when my grandma finally said something. "No." That one little word. That's when everyone kind of understood. It was happening that night. Leaving the care center at about midnight, I was SO frustrated. All of the great-grandkids were being hauled off. The nurses gave her something that would get rid of her now 102.9 fever. It is very common that when someone as fragile as my grandma was given this medicine, they would pass away once it wore off.

None of the adults would let me stay. They were all talking about how 'when you see someone actually die, it all you remember about them' blah blah blah. Little did they know,

It's all I wanted

I didn't have many memories as it was. I'm a big girl and I had already come to terms with her passing. And most importantly,

I wasn't them.

Just because that's all they remember, doesn't mean that's all I would.

Maxine Taylor passed away Sunday August 19th, at 2:20 a.m.

Like I said, I've come to terms with her passing. But, I still miss her so much.

We all ate dinner as a family today, in remembrance of her.

Releasing emotion, leaving memories, sending love. RIP Grandma Taylor. <3

XOXO,
Halli
